| The locality "Renacci" can be reached by car from the downtown of San Giovanni Valdarno. It is situated on the right banks of the Arno river, on a sandy hill after which it was named "Renaccio" ("coarse shand") in ancient times. On top of the hill stand an imposing villa that used to belong to the Rinuccini marquis Rinuccini, and St. Sylvester's Church. The villa is immersed in a wood of centuries old oak and holm oak trees. One of the adjoining buildings was used as a set by director Leonardo Pieraccioni for his movie "Fuochi d'artificio" ("fireworks"). |
